3 Ways To Bring Your Purpose and Passion to Life

Don’t Let Your Dreams Hit A Dead End

Ah, to dream is an amazing and powerful thing. What our imagination can come up with is so incredible, and at times even seem like fantasy or magick.

Of course you maybe know by now that I am a huge believer in magick. And I am also a big believer that yoga can be our magickal tool in creating the life we want.

When we consider the type of life we want, it always begins as just that…a DREAM. A thought, a desire, an idea. As it grows, we begin to visualize it in our head. We see the details of what it would mean to have that dream be real life. We can even feel how it would feel to successfully bring our vision to life.

But for so many of us, it stops there.

Why? Because dreaming is easy. It’s exciting. It feels limitless. We can conjure up so much in our minds and feel that immense pleasure of success simply by imagining what is possible for us. But then, we stop there. We forget or choose not to do the work. Once something leaves our heads, it becomes too real. And with that, comes pressure, risk, and judgment.

Enter our inner critic. Some of the things our inner critic loves to say to us are:

You don’t have the ability to do this.

You don’t know enough.

No one cares about you doing this.

….among other things.

And this inner voice is powerful…but what is more powerful is our ACTUAL VOICE.

Now we turn back to the Chakra System for yoga tools on getting through these blockages and past the inner critic. The Throat Chakra, or Vishuddha, is related to our expression, our voice, and also listening. So how can Vishuddha help us move past these blocks?

Three Ways Our Throat Chakra Supports Our Dream Manifestation

  1. Our voice allows us to speak our intentions into reality for the first time.

When we use our voice to speak about what our goals and dreams are, when we say them out loud, this officially moves us into the realm of REALITY. Up to this point, our goals are just thoughts that exist inside our heads, the same as our inner critic. They can be the strongest dreams and the most aligned desires, but they will exist only in our heads if we don't bring them out of it. And the first way we can do that is by using our voice to put them out into the world. You can do this by creating intentions and affirmations and saying them out loud, telling a friend or family member, posting on social media about it, or writing it on a post-it note that you will see every single day as you work towards your goal. By doing these things, what was once just an idea without tangible substance, creates vibration in our throat, therefore vibration in the physical world, and therefore vibration in the universe. If you skip this step, dreams will remain unmanifested and the inner critic takes over.

  2. Our voice helps to shift our mindset and destroy the demon of LIES

The inner critic tells us lies about ourselves. These lies usually stem from some sort of limiting belief (good time to revisit the Root Chakra) that we’ve had about ourselves or the way of the world. Our spoken voice, or even expression through writing, overpowers the voice in our heads and can actually REPROGRAM the voice in our head to become more of an inner cheerleader! When you experience the inner critic telling you a lie such as “I don’t have enough experience to manifest my dream,” you can create a phrase, affirming the opposite sentiment and speak it out loud, write it down, and repeat it over and over again. For example, “I am knowledgeable and capable of manifesting my dream.” This will effectively over time, reprogram the beliefs you have in your head, and shift the motivation of your inner voice. It’s essentially the theory of “fake it til you make it” but it 100% works.

  3. Active listening helps shape our path through manifestation

The Throat Chakra is not just how we connect to our own voice, but it is also our ability to listen. Now, this might seem like it’s negating a bit of the second point, but in this case, our ability to listen can come in the form of feedback and constructive criticism. When we are working towards creating something in our life, it’s important to at least be OPEN to hearing people out. Some people may have been through similar struggles and hearing their stories, can inform how we go about our journey. We can also ask people for insight into what we are doing. For example, if you want to open a business that appeals to mothers with young children, you might ask your friend who has a kid to take a look at your website and see if they find it easy to navigate or get he information they need. This type of listening can be transformational when manifesting. Yes, it does come with the caveat of making sure you are listening to people you trust or whom you have specifically asked for feedback because no matter what, there’s always gonna be that one naysayer…and we DON’T want to listen to them! But feedback can be a really amazing way to grow and create what we want.

Do any of these strike a chord with you? Perhaps your intuition is also at play and you are finding one to be especially applicable.

Over all, what you should take away from this is that your voice is powerful and it matters. It is the first step into bringing your dream out of the realm of imagination and into the world or manifestation.
